Pachypodium eburneum
A rare Pachypodium with white flowers, elegant ivory-colored trunk and large white blooms.
Pachypodium eburneum grows on limestone outcrops in northern Madagascar and is distinguished within the genus by its white to ivory-colored flowers—a rarity among Pachypodium species. The trunk is short and broadly swollen with ivory-gray skin and moderately dense spines. Growth is very slow and plants are difficult to source, making them rare collector items. Full sun, extremely porous soil, restrained watering during growth, and complete winter drought with temperatures above 10°C are required. As a representative white-flowered Pachypodium, it is highly regarded among enthusiasts.
