Long-haired Siamese with same pointed coloring and blue eyes. Elegant semi-long coat. Vocal and social.
The Balinese is a natural mutation of the Siamese, differing only in coat length. The breed was developed in the United States during the 1950s and 1960s from longhaired kittens that occasionally appeared in Siamese litters. It was named after the graceful dancers of Bali. Like the Siamese, the Balinese has a slender, elegant body and a colorpoint coat pattern with vivid blue eyes, but with a semi-long, silky coat and a plumed tail. Unlike many longhaired breeds, the Balinese lacks an undercoat, making grooming relatively easy. They share the Siamese's vocal, social, and affectionate nature.
