Search for listings and check the details. You can ask the breeder questions via the messaging feature before buying. Complete payment through Stripe, and a tracking number is shared after the breeder ships. Payment is released to the breeder only after you confirm receipt — that's our escrow system.
We use Stripe for payments and accept credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express). Card details are securely managed by Stripe and never stored by BreederDirect. With escrow, payment is held until you confirm receipt, so you can buy with confidence.
Each breeder arranges shipping individually with appropriate packaging and temperature control for the species and season. Shipping costs vary by breeder — check the listing page for details. For any questions, message the breeder directly via our messaging feature.
Due to the nature of live specimens, returns/refunds for buyer's remorse are generally not accepted. However, if the specimen significantly differs from the listing or arrives DOA, contact us within 24 hours and we will assist. With escrow, payment is held until you confirm receipt.
After creating an account, submit a breeder application with identity documents and keeping environment details. Once approved, you can list as a verified breeder. Our listing template feature auto-fills category-specific fields for efficiency. See our User Guide for details.
Fees are only charged when a sale is completed — listing is free. A percentage of the sale price is deducted as the platform fee. There are no monthly or fixed costs, making it accessible for individual breeders.
DOA guarantees vary by breeder. Check the 'Guarantee Policy' section on each listing. The typical requirement is to photograph upon arrival and contact the breeder within 24 hours. In case of disputes, our support team mediates.
Yes, you can message breeders directly before buying. Ask about health, temperament, keeping conditions, diet, shipping — anything you'd like to know. Breeder profiles also display estimated response times. We recommend using Q&A exchanges to assess a breeder's reliability.
Browsing and searching listings is available without an account. Purchasing, messaging, favorites, and comparison features require registration. Sign up easily with email or Google login. To list as a breeder, you'll also need to complete breeder verification.
