Graham Thomas

Bred by David Austin (UK) in 1983 and dedicated to renowned British horticulturist Graham Stuart Thomas, this English Rose is the defining yellow variety of its class and a World Rose Hall of Fame inductee. Its rich butterscotch-yellow cupped blooms deepen toward the center in a warm gradient, accompanied by a medium to strong fragrance combining Tea rose notes with a fruity sweetness. Highly versatile, it can be grown as a rounded shrub of 1.2–1.5m or trained as a climber to over 3m. Disease resistance is moderate. Winter pruning to one-third to half is recommended for the shrub form; for the climbing form, training main canes horizontally and shortening laterals maximizes flowering along the full length of each shoot.
